On April 29, 1955 in Tennessee the world was given someone that would make his way through a life that was not all roses and find his way to the glitter and lights of Hollywood. The journey to stardom was a bit different then the typical Hollywood story, at just  four feet eleven inches actor Leslie Jordan  would soon find his way down  the carpet ...the pink carpet! Becoming an very recognizable force in television, theater, and film, with scene stealing acting that would surly make the audience laugh and become well invested in the characters that he would play.

Perhaps his best known role in television is that of Beverley Leslie on Will & Grace. That  role of  Karen Walkers pretentious rival  won him an Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Series at the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in 2006. He has had many guest appearances on other TV shows such as  Reba, Boston Public, Ally McBeal, Murphy Brown, Boston Legal, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Star Trek: Voyager,  and more recently  Ugly Betty as Quincy Combs. In 2007, Jordan starred as Jesse Joe in the short-lived CW television program, Hidden Palms and the pilot episode of Laugh Out, the world's first interactive, gay-themed comedy show.

In the world of film he may best be known as the lovable Brother Boy in Sordid Lives, a role he has played on stage, on film and soon will be reprising for the upcoming MTV/Logo network’s 2008 Del Shores' TV series "Sordid Lives: The Series" with Emmy nominated actress Delta Burke. The role is Leslie Jordan at his best, and I for one can hardily wait for the series to air.

On stage is truly where you can see and feel a true personal connection with Leslie Jordan, I first saw him a few years back in his show Like a Dog on Linoleum, his one-man autobiographical play in Atlanta. I fell in love with his candid tales of life, Hollywood, and addiction.  Now , he is back and can add the title of author to his credits, he recently released his new book  “My Trip Down the Pink Carpet”  and is currently touring the country in his new show  of the same name. In both the book and play he says he may in fact be "the gayest man in the world."  He maybe be, but one thing is for sure its extremely dishy and even a bit steamy.

Jordan speaks candidly about his substance abuse, sex addiction, Hollywood tales and his endless crushes on his male co-stars, who for the most part were straight.  "Dean Cain was stunning, and the sight of him strutting about in his Superman outfit was truly magnificent," Jordan recalling his "Lois and Clark." memories, "I showed up on the set determined not to 'peter-gaze,' or at least not to get caught at it."

It does stop there Jordan became a bit obsessed with actor Billy Bob Thornton after the late actor John Ritter hinted to Leslie about  size of Thornton's private parts. Ritter told Jordan that Billy’s "rope" would cause him to "fall in love." while the two were surfing one day. Jordan explained the disappointment of  not getting a peek, saying "There are probably a lot of things I'll go a lifetime without seeing - the Mona Lisa, the Taj Mahal, the pyramids. And I'll probably never see Billy Bob's wiener, either."

He also shares a personal story on meeting current “Iron Man” star Robert Downey Jr. when the two met in jail and shared a cell for half  a day. Jordan was there for DUI convictions. Jordan later wrote Robert Downey jr.  a personal letter where he asked the star to become friends with an outcast  HIV-positive inmate.  "That letter really meant a lot to me." , Robert Downey Jr said years after
Jordan's letter.
